I have just been informed by PerlMonks that I have been there for "7 enlivening years."
In that time, I've learned far more about Perl than I had initially realized there was to learn. I've drifted away from the site several times, but always returned when I either hit a snag or just had some time to burn and wanted to find an interesting conversation to follow. I've asked many questions, answered even more (usually correctly!), and managed to avoid stumbling into any flamewars - not that the monastery has many to dodge.
This can't be the first time it's been said, but:
PerlMonks is a damn fine community. Easily one of the best on the net. Although it's Perl-focused, it's also home to experts in any type of programming you care to name and answers to most questions come very quickly. You're an incredible group and I'm proud to stand among you.
